Learn to Burn to be Held on October 29

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the many ways fire can be used as an extremely effective and budget friendly tool for improving and maintaining healthy ecosystems.

This demonstration will feature a live demonstration of different burn methods in a field, as well as a live late growing season burn of 30 acres for quail, deer, and turkey habitat improvement. We will also have a tour of three adjacent growing season burn units performed in late August. The three units were all burned using different burn methods and at different heat intensity for experimental purposes.

Understanding where and when to utilize growing season burns will help you better manage your burn rotation and can take a problem area from a shaded out monoculture understory of undesirable trees to a thriving understory of beneficial native forbes and grasses with just a gallon of burn fuel and a few hours! And if you’re worried a late growing season burn will be a detriment to your deer hunting, don’t be!

These burn blocks will be the most productive fall food plots on your entire property!
