Robert Gibbes Named Executive Director of the Interlaken Wildlife Foundation
CAMERON, S.C. — August 5, 2026 — The Interlaken Wildlife Foundation is pleased to announce Robert Gibbes as its new Executive Director. Gibbes will oversee the Foundation's mission for connecting people to nature through outdoor recreation, education, and hunting and shooting sports.
As Executive Director, Gibbes will lead the Foundation's efforts to expand wildlife habitat conservation, strengthen educational outreach, foster partnerships with public and private stakeholders, and advance initiatives that preserve the region's rich natural heritage for future generations.
Gibbes expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, saying, "I couldn’t be more excited at the opportunity to be the new Director of the Interlaken Wildlife Foundation. I was introduced to the outdoors through programs and foundations like IWF as a child and the lessons I learned from those people and places are priceless and timeless. It’s an honor to carry on Gary Dietrich’s mission of introducing kids and adults to the many opportunities and wonders nature has to offer.”
Under Gibbes' leadership, the Foundation will continue to focus on habitat preservation, wildlife research, environmental education, and collaborative conservation initiatives that benefit both wildlife and the local community.
